I started Woodturning back in high school. I continued to work with wood, but turning took a back seat to raising a family and work. Then in 2008 I was able to start Woodturning again. It has been a joy to be creating art with my Woodturning. I start with large pieces of raw wood. Turning on the lathe and letting the wood talk to me and revealing the beauty inside the log is a joy. I can start with an idea but the wood often has a mind of it’s own. I have recently also started adding some colored resin to some of my pieces. It adds a touch that shows a new dimension to the wood. I love to see people lovingly pick of one of my art pieces and see the joy on their face as the feel the warmth of the wood.
