Michele Walsh Gorres Art
Born and raised in Benson Minnesota, Michele Walsh Gorres began drawing very young. Self-taught, she drew the world around her - and horses! Early influencers were her 7th-grade teacher and her high school art instructor. Michele married her high school sweetheart in 1983 in Alexander, ND where she trained and showed Arabian horses. Together, they created 3 girls and 2 boys. Michele chose to put aside art for 20 years to focus on raising them. So far, there are 8 delightful grandchildren that bring their own inspirations! An eclectic group of artists inspire her. Illustrators Norman Rockwell, CW Anderson, and Wesley Dennis laid the groundwork early on; Linda Glover Gooch, Kim Casebeer and Jed Dorsey mentor her landscapes; Greg Beechum and Joel Pilch give inspiration for animals. Michele's art has been recognized domestically and internationally. She has placed in shows in North Dakota, many international online shows, and has been juried into National competitions in multiple states. In both 2024 and 2025 multiple works won placings in the American Art Awards. Michele enjoys family time, football, gardening, hobby farming, and hiking/sightseeing.
